Foundation accepting grant applications

PORT CLINTON — The Ottawa County Community Foundation is now accepting grant applications for a two-year cycle program. These grants support projects in the fields of education, health and social services, economic development, natural resources and the arts. "Today's struggles in our communities are greater than ever," foundation grants chair Mary Coffee said. The foundation " looks forward to partnering with our county nonprofit agencies, in 2024, to help those in need." Last year, the foundation awarded more than $103,000 in grants to local nonprofits. According to Coffee: • $82,000 of that total was awarded to 47 nonprofits as part of the annual community grants cycle • $21,000 supported additional special needs, dyslexia training for school teachers, a science field trip to Stone Lab and The Top Ten Banquet Nonprofits based in Ottawa County or serving its residents can submit a request for grant funding. The foundation The foundation, which didn't specify how much grant money is available, is celebrating its 25th year of supporting community efforts with the aim of "Doing good. Forever." How to apply Applications will be accepted through Friday, March 1 via an online application portal. To submit, visit ottawaccf.org/grants. Note: • The foundation uses the Greater Toledo Community Foundation's grant portal to accept its community grant applications. • Applicants will see Greater Toledo Community Foundation information to begin the process and must click on the Ottawa County Community Foundation description to access the login page. • First-time applicants must create an account to begin, and previous grant applicants may log into their existing account to begin a new application.
