Dealership shuts down

PERKINS TWP. — A dealership debuting in the Sandusky area nearly three years ago announced its immediate closure, which took effect on Wednesday. Citing economic reasons, Sharpnack Sandusky — 3002 Hayes Avenue (Ohio 4), just south of West Perkins Avenue — publicized the decision on its social media account. A worker at another Sharpnack location confirmed the post's accuracy. By late Thursday, the lot was deserted, void of any cars or Sharpnack signage. "We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who has been a part of our journey over the years," the post read. Sharpnack, which opened its Sandusky location in 2021, then went on to extend its gratitude toward two specific groups: • Customers: "Your support and patronage have been the cornerstone of our business. We've cherished the relationships we've built and the trust you've placed in us for your vehicle needs." • Employees: "Thank you for your hard work, dedication and passion. Your commitment to providing exceptional service has been the driving force behind our success, and we truly appreciate everything you've done for our Sandusky family." The company's two other franchise locations — both in Willard, one specializing in Ford vehicles and the other in GM inventory— will remain open for business. "We are committed to ensuring that your vehicle needs are met with the same level of excellence you've come to expect from us," the post read. "Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our Sandusky community. We look forward to serving you at our Willard locations and continuing to build on the relationships we've established."
