NYE party planned for Fremont

FREMONT — Front Street is turning into the place to be for New Year's Eve. With the sixth annual Downtown Fremont, Ohio, New Year's Eve Celebration — known as "NYE in the FRE" — this year's festivities will be bringing fun and excitement to your downtown and utilize the newly completed Fremont Amphitheater. Starting at 8 p.m. on Dec. 31, this community event will occur on Front Street between Croghan Street and Birchard Avenue and at the downtown Fremont Amphitheater. It's for everyone in Fremont as well as the surrounding Sandusky County area and beyond with rides on the street for all ages, along with music, photo ops, food and fun. Here's a tentative schedule of events at the Fremont Amphitheater at the corner of Birchard Avenue and Arch Street • 8-10 p.m. — a performance by Mike "Mad Dog" Adams, who regularly performs on Put-in-Bay; He has appeared in concert opening shows for a wide range of legendary performers. Come see Adams' legendary performances of interactive music and comedy that brings people from all over the country. • 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. — a performance by the Killer Flamingos; The Killer Flamingos are Detroit's biggest and best party band providing unforgettable performances that have kept audiences on the cutting edge of current music. An explosive live show, packed with outstanding musicianship and high-energy will make New Year's Eve in Fremont unforgettable. Purchasing a $10 wristband on Front Street from 8 p.m. to 1 am will give unlimited access to all ages for the rides with no age restrictions. This would include an extreme fun slide, a carousel, an extreme trampoline and a pirate ship.
