DIVISION IV: 8 Pirates named All-Ohio

One of the best seasons in Perkins football history concluded with eight Pirates earning All-Ohio honors in Division IV. Logan Lesch and Haiden Bollini, who were both district players of the year at their respective positions, were first-team All-Ohio selections by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association. Lesch, a senior, threw for 3,013 yards and 39 touchdowns in leading Perkins (12-1) to a regional runner-up finish. He holds every notable passing record in Perkins history. Bollini, a junior, protected Lesch's blind side as the Pirates' left tackle and also served as a pass-rushing defensive end (five sacks). Perkins put one player on the second team: junior wide receiver Braylon Collier. He finished with 18 touchdown catches, including two great snags in the end zone in the regional final against Glenville. Collier reeled in 80 passes overall for 1,164 yards, most in a single season in Perkins history. Perkins' two third-team All-Ohio choices were defensive lineman Reagan Kaufman and defensive back Weston Sturzinger, two more juniors. Kaufman finished the season with 11 sacks as part of 87 tackles. Sturzinger had three interceptions and 53 tackles while joining Collier in becoming the first duo in Perkins history to top 1,000 receiving yards in the same season. As a wideout, Sturzinger went for 54 catches, 1,065 yards and 11 scores. He also ran for two touchdowns. The final three Pirates all-state representatives made it on the D-IV honorable mention list: running back Isaac Bunts, linebacker Mikey Young and kicker Noah Normington-Slay. Bunts ran for 27 touchdowns, totaling 1,696 yards on 260 attempts. He also caught 11 passes for 160 yards and two scores. Young finished with 87 tackles, including 3.5 sacks, and recovered a fumble. Normington-Slay made all 80 of his extra-point attempts. That finishes unofficially tied for 13th in Ohio state history for consecutive PATs made. He was also 5-for-8 on field goals.
