Vaping prohibited in indoor spaces

SANDUSKY — The Erie County Health Department, in collaboration with The Ohio Department of Health's Tobacco Cessation Program, is highlighting the importance of the smoke-free workplace in its most recent local media campaign. In October 2021, the Ohio legislature approved an amendment to the 2006 smoke-free workplace law, bringing e-cigarettes within its purview. Consequently, the use of e-cigarettes and/or vaping devices are now prohibited inside all indoor public spaces, including businesses, restaurants, theatres and other places. To report a violation, call the Ohio Department of Health at 1-866-599-OHIO. "Are you a smoker or someone who uses electronic vaping products? When you are ready to quit, free resources for smoking and vaping are available," according to a local agency statement. "The Ohio Tobacco Quitline is a free tobacco cessation program based on proven strategies to help you quit tobacco.
