Cedar Point tickets on the rise

SANDUSKY — In 2003, the year Top Thrill Dragster debuted at Cedar Point, the gate price of an admission ticket was $43.95. Fast forward to 2024, and the gate price of admission will rise to $85, coinciding with the debut of Top Thrill 2, the reimagined roller coaster. According to historic Cedar Point ticket prices, 2023 was the first time since 2006 that Cedar Point lowered the gate price of admission to $80 as compared to $85 in 2022. Of course, the majority of guests purchase season passes or advanced tickets on the Cedar Point website. At the time of writing, Cedar Point tickets are only $50 on the website. A special combo ticket is also available for a limited time that includes parking and a meal for $50. For guests who would like to visit Cedar Point for two or more days in 2024, a summer pass is only $99 but is only good through Labor Day and does not include Cedar Point Shores water park. If guests would like access to Cedar Point Shores, they would need to upgrade to the Gold Pass for only $130. One long weekend, and the Gold Pass pays for itself. Our family sat down and evaluated the new Cedar Point pass structures for 2024 after they eliminated the Platinum Pass option. Based on the August 2023 prices, we determined that 2024 season passes were far cheaper than they were in August 2022 for 2023 passes. So we downgraded from platinum to gold plus the All-Park Passport, giving us the same benefit of access to the rest of the Cedar Fair parks like Kings Island. Cedar Point and Top Thrill 2 will debut to the general public on May 4.
