Event to deliver holiday magic

HURON TWP. — Mulberry Creek is bringing back what's known as Christkindlmarkt, a festive holiday market that brings the magic of the season to the heart of Huron. The free event, open to the public, takes place Saturday and Sunday from Mulberry Creek Herb Farm, 3312 Bogart Road, in Huron and "promises to be a memorable experience for visitors of all ages," according to an event statement. Pronounced "Chris-kindle-market," it is modeled after the German outdoor Christmas markets where neighbors meet to shop, drink and eat. "Attendees can stroll through the festive-adorned market, surrounded by the warmth of twinkling lights, the scent of seasonal spices and the joyous melodies of live holiday music," the statement read. "Christkindlmarkt at Mulberry Creek is a community-driven event that embraces the spirit of togetherness and the joy of giving," it continued. "Whether you're searching for the perfect holiday gift, indulging in seasonal treats or simply immersing yourself in the festive atmosphere, this event promises something special for everyone." Key event highlights include: • Artisan vendors — Discover one-of-a-kind gifts crafted by local artisans, including handmade ornaments, jewelry, textiles and more. • A festive atmosphere — Get immersed in the holiday spirit when exploring the market, adorned with traditional decorations and creating a magical and memorable experience. • Delicious treats — Indulge in seasonal delights and treats, including festive snacks, hot beverages and gourmet goodies perfect for holiday gifting. Local business Blue Ribbon Catering will offer Haluski, pork schnitzel, homemade bratwurst, German potato salad and more. • Live entertainment — Enjoy the sounds of the season with live performances by the Huron High School Troubadours. Attendees are encouraged to bring an item to donate to this year's partner, Back to the Wild.
