Father of corpse abuse suspect arrested

CLAY TWP. — The father of a Genoa man charged with abuse of a corpse is now also facing charges of his own. Donald W. Dudrow, Jr., 64, of Elmore, was charged with obstructing justice and tampering with evidence, both of which are third-degree felonies, according to court records. He was arrested on Wednesday. Dudrow Jr. allegedly misled Clay Township investigators as to the whereabouts of his son, Donald W. Dudrow III, according to Clay Township police Chief Terry Mitchell. The younger Dudrow, 35, was arrested on Sept. 15 and charged with involuntary manslaughter, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and corrupting another with drugs, all of which are felonies, according to court records. At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 14, officers responded to the 19000 block of Ohio 51 for reports of a strong odor in the area, according to a news release from Clay Township police. Officers arrived to discover a severely decomposed body in the area. The Lucas County Coroner's Office identified the body as Laura L. Brown, 36, of Sandusky, the news release states. Both men are being held at the Ottawa County Detention Facility under no-bond orders. Dudrow III pleaded not guilty at a Thursday arraignment in the Ottawa County Court of Common Pleas. He has a pre-trial scheduled for 2 p.m. on Oct. 25.
