Huron company among Ohio's best

HURON — The Employers Resource Council recently awarded Huron-based Humanetics for having one of the most skilled workforces across northeast Ohio. The council presented Humanetics with a 2023 NorthCoat 99 Award, which recognized 99 employers situated along this region. About 25 years ago, the council "established the NorthCoast 99 annual awards program and event to help make our region a long-term destination of choice for companies and high-performing individuals," said Samantha Marx, the council's director of strategic projects, who oversees the NorthCoast 99 program. "More than a badge of honor, this yearlong research program provides employers with data on the policies and practices that are proven to attract and retain top-notch talent," Marx said. To qualify, winners participated in a rigorous application process, which sought detailed information on how their organization addresses: • Top-performer attraction, development and retention in the areas of organizational strategy, policies and benefits • Talent attraction, acquisition and onboarding • Employee well-being • Employee engagement and talent development • Total rewards • Diversity, equity, and inclusion This marks the first time Humanetics claimed this distinction. Humanetics — which has 24 locations and 13 offices worldwide, including in Huron, 900 Denton Drive, near BGSU Firelands — is a global, high-tech industrial technology group. "Our sensor and measurement capabilities create data from critical environments and deliver precision tools to enable customers to answer critical questions and empower decisions that drive performance. Bio blast On its website, Humanetics provided some information about the company: Humanetics is a leading provider of precision safety systems, simulation models, ergonomic software and advanced sensor technologies. The group has 1,000 employees across its facilities strategically located around the world with the global corporate headquarters situated in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The origins of the Humanetics Group can be traced back to the 1950s when Samuel Alderson created the first anthropomorphic test device — or crash-test dummy, as we commonly know them — to test aircraft ejection seats, aviation helmets and pilot restraint systems. The technology of these early dummies provided the foundation for the creation of automotive crash-test dummies in the early 1960s.
