1 killed in Milan Twp. crash

MILAN TWP. — The Erie County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Friday morning in Milan Township. The fatal crash occurred at 8:09 a.m. in the 11000 block of Milan Road (U.S. 250) in the area of Avery in Milan Township, according to a release from the Erie County Sheriff's Office. Norman MacIntyre, 82, of Easton, Pennsylvania, was driving a 2022 Subaru Outlander with his wife, Suzanne MacIntyre, 76, riding in a passenger seat. William Estep, 56, of Collins, Ohio, drove a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe. Norman MacIntyre was exiting a private driveway on the east side of the U.S. 250, intending to turn southeastbound. Norman MacIntyre apparently failed to yield the right of way to Estep and Estep's vehicle struck MacIntyre's driver's side, the release states. All three occupants were transported to Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk. Norman MacIntyre died of his injuries and Suzanne MacIntyre suffered serious injuries and was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where she remains hospitalized. Estep remains hospitalized at Fisher-Titus. North Central EMS and Milan Township Fire assisted at the scene, Sheriff Paul Sigsworth said.
