Spouses slice up Domino's ownership

HURON — Even though there's a new ownership change, the top proprietors promise to maintain old traditions making this pizza franchise No. 1 in the nation. Not too long ago, spouses Bryan and Chelsea Parthemore took the reins of Huron's Domino's location — on Main Street beside a Mickey Mart convenience store at a BP gas station — from brothers Mike and Skip Wilde. "We want to maintain the good tradition we have here in town," said Bryan, who's worked at this franchise for 27 years, mainly as a delivery driver. Added Chelsea, formerly serving as store manager, who's put in 14 years there: "It's a good business opportunity." For starters, Bryan and Chelsea — the Huron residents have three young children: Odin, Nash and Nixx — kept on every single employee, about two dozen in total, in this transition. "We are all super tight and want it to stay as similar as it was," Chelsea said. "We will also stay involved in the school system, supporting them and our sports teams. We grew up here, our kids are going to school here, and we want people to come to us, feed their families and get a good product." It's among the reasons why this location recently found itself atop a prestigious list. Earlier this year, this Domino's team ranked first among all 6,700 or so locations nationwide in terms of customer service, according to a company report. Known as a customer satisfaction score, the Michigan-based multinational pizza restaurant analyzes how each eatery performs in terms of customer service, food quality, order and delivery timeliness among many other factors. Feedback given by customers largely determines a given location's score. Never before has Huron's location placed this high. It's among the proudest accomplishments for Mike and Skip. They ran this Domino's for about 30 years. They took it over from a prior owner who established it in Huron 10 years beforehand. "We have always believed that the customer is No. 1," Mike said. "But I know we earned that award because of our employees. We know Chelsea, Bryan and their team have the same mindset as we do. It was important that we sold to someone that was born here, raised here and lives here, and we know they will treat the community the way they deserve to be treated. We know they'll be involved." Chelsea and Bryan expressed their appreciation to Mike and Skip. "We know we have big shoes to fill, but we are ready," Chelsea said.
