Put-in-Bay School graduates 6

PUT-IN-BAY — Ottawa County's smallest school district graduated its Class of 2023. On May 25, six seniors — Lilian Frederick, Macy Ladd, Alice Lentz, McKenna Stacy, Alec Sharp and Doug Steidl — earned their Put-in-Bay High School diplomas at the Perry International and Peace Memorial, the school stated. Ladd and Lentz were the valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, and 1991 Put-in-Bay grad Eric Engel spoke during the ceremony. The grades 6-8 choir, directed by Gay Pippert, performed "Forward," and a party for the graduates followed the ceremony at the island's yacht club. To celebrate high school's end, the class recently traveled to the Pacific Northwest for the annual senior trip. "All six of the seniors loved their class trip to Washington and Oregon," according to Put-in-Bay School. "The trip was full of life and color even when it was raining. The views in the cities were spectacular as well.
