SANDUSKY — Underground artists looking to grow can do so at a new art studio and music venue in Sandusky. Planet Spun, at 1048 Cleveland Road (U.S. 6), offers artists a community to express themselves. Owner Ryan Jensen wants it to be a "safe and fun environment" for people to grow into their full potential. Jensen is committed to providing guests with multiple one-of-a-kind experiences as the entertainment venue showcases many different art forms, including live concerts of all genres and comedy shows. Local artists that have performed at the venue include local singer-songwriter Sammie Leigh, DJ Inkarcerate, underground hip-hop artist Jimmy Da Gunna and Josh the Idiotic. "I'm passionate about promoting positivity and individuality through art and music," Jensen said. "I wanted it to be a place where everyone can find something they enjoy." Some of the venue's most popular events include Paint-n-Sip and Lyrical Savages, a monthly hip-hop event showcasing up-and-coming artists. Jensen encourages guests to participate in activities like the Art Cart, an interactive creation station in which attendees are encouraged to participate in one of the group paintings or take part in one of the various other crafts available.
