Marblehead marina growing

MARBLEHEAD — Bay Point Resort and Marina on East Bayshore Road in Marblehead recently announced the expansion of its onsite marina, adding 74 jet docks ports. The new floating docks will be installed along a marina channel near Charlie's Channel Tiki Bar. The project will increase the marina's jet docks to 231, making Bay Point Marina one of the largest ports for jet skis in the area. "This exciting expansion will allow Bay Point Resort and Marina to accommodate our guests and the growing popularity of boating across the Lake Erie area," resort general manager Mark Gallavan said. "The exceptional service and convenient amenities we provide for our members set our resort apart and we are thrilled to be adding to it with this marina expansion." The marina expansion project is underway and should be completed this summer. Financial terms were not disclosed. Bay Point Resort and Marina is a 227-acre resort and marina. Currently, Bay Point has 816 water slips, a 184-site campground, a lakefront restaurant and outdoor bars offering live music and special events, resort store and various amenities. For more than 80 years, "Bay Point has offered the best of Lake Erie to its members and the resort continues to be a first-class relaxation destination," according to a marina statement. "With 816 water slips, seasonal campsites, sandy beaches, waterfront dining, outdoor activities and recreation, summer entertainment and special events, Bay Point is known as the place where visitors connect with family and loved ones, make new friends, and create memories that last a lifetime," it read.
