Perkins students performing this weekend

PERKINS TWP. — A group of Perkins Schools students will showcase their acting skills this weekend. Six Meadowlawn Intermediate fifth-graders involved in their school's puppet club will perform with their principal Jeremy Hiser in a comedy taken from the old nursery rhyme "Sing a Song of Sixpence" Saturday during a larger family event, called Storybook Adventure, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at historic Lyme Village, at 5001 Ohio 4 in Bellevue. It's sponsored by Victory Honda of Sandusky. "Storybook Adventure presents many local students, teachers, actors and reenactors throughout the village buildings," said event director Pam Benedict. "Children's author Dora Wilbur will be featured, as well as a 750 toy tractor display." The planned events will include a Cinderella ball, which will occur in the mansion ballroom, and children are encouraged to wear costumes, Benedict said. "For more of a challenge, a scavenger hunt with cell phones can be done throughout the village to achieve a sweet prize," Benedict said. Tickets can be purchased at the event.
