SANDUSKY — Reid Wikel set down the first 11 batters he faced and stayed in control to lead St. Mary Central Catholic to a 6-2 baseball win over Hopewell-Loudon (7-7, 4-4 SBC River) on Monday at Dorn Park. Wikel ended up throwing 6.2 innings, striking out six and allowing just one earned run. Garrett Flewelling came on to record the final out with one pitch that got a groundout. The Panthers (5-9, 3-4) took a 2-0 lead in the first. Brock Gill singled, stole a base and came around to score before Wikel drove in Kyle West on a groundout. SMCC added three in the fifth.
