Campus notes: Findlay, Marietta, University of Kentucky

DAVENPORT, Iowa Emily Holcomb, of Wakeman, was named to the fall 2022 dean's list at Palmer College of Chiropractic's main campus in Davenport, Iowa. FINDLAY Two area students recently won awards at the University of Findlay's 2023 Student Art and Design Juried Exhibition: • Christine Bolen, of Oak Harbor, received an honorable mention for her digital photography piece "Cowboy Take Me Away." • Fernando Huerta, of Willard, received an honorable mention for his painting "Madvillain." Two other local students also participated in the event: Norwalk native Brooke Bleile showcased creativity in a photography/digital project titled "August 13th" and in visual communication titled "Courier;" and Ellie Hanselman, of Oak Harbor, showed of paintings titled "Pear" and "Study of The Ghost of Kohada Koheiji." Categories included visual fundamentals, design in crafts, and intro to digital design; drawing and mixed media; sculpture; visual communication; ceramics; painting; film photography; digital photography; design; and printmaking. About 280 pieces were entered and 80 of them were accepted into the show. Free and open to the public through April 28, artwork will be displayed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily in the Dudley and Mary Marks Lea Gallery located in the Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion. LEXINGTON, Ky. Ridge Roshong of Huron qualified for the University of Kentucky's fall 2022 College of Arts & Sciences dean's list. More than 1,825 undergraduate students have qualified for the fall College of Arts & Sciences dean's list. Students on the dean's list earned 12 or more credit hours as letter grades with a minimum 3.6 GPA for the semester. MARIETTA, Ohio Sandusky native Spencer Flick was one of 23 students inducted into Marietta College's chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha, a national honor society for first-generation students. Flick is a graduate of Margaretta High School and is majoring in petroleum engineering. Alpha Alpha Alpha, or Tri-Alpha, was founded on March 24, 2018, at Moravian College (now Moravian University) in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
