New location for Diva Lashes

HURON — It's in a new location. But customers can still expect the same high-quality service provided by a local woman. Earlier this year, Diva Lashes By Maggie & Spa stayed in Huron, however, relocated to 513 Cleveland Road W. It's in the same plaza as the Huron Market and Mesenburg Creative Catering. Now in a 950-square-foot street-facing storefront, Longer's new space provides much more room to expand her selection of offerings. "Instead of aesthetics alone, it's now a full beauty salon," owner-operator Maggie Longer said. "I'm going to offer almost all of the same services — eyelash extensions, facials, skin treatments and waxes — and I'm looking for talented girls who do hair, makeup and massage therapy." When people walk in, they're instantly greeted by bright, pink walls. Longer hopes the welcoming color scheme makes her clients feel quickly comfortable before undergoing a makeover. "It's such a beautiful place here. It's new paint, new floors, new everything," Longer said. "It's the vibe I wanted to create here. I want people to get that luxury experience while still paying very affordable prices." Longer also wants to teach others her talents. "I'm still offering lash training classes," said Longer, who's proficient in styles ranging from classic to hybrid, mega volume and Russian, among others. She created an eyelash extension course to share her knowledge with those who also aspire for a beauty-related career. "My goal with this training is not only to show my students how to do lashes but to also show them the process, my techniques, my tips, tricks and how to have the right mindset in order to be a successful lash artist so that they can eventually become their own boss," she said. All of Diva Lashes' services aim to make a person feel and look better, Longer said. She encourages people — especially those with skin issues like acne, dryness, oiliness, redness and eczema — to visit her. "It's important to take care of your skin," said Longer, who's working on her own lash line products. "I'm going to be the first eyelash extension supplier in town for eyelash extensions, lash shampoos, tweezers and everything a lash artist will need for their journey."
