The freshest Clean Water Contractor Expo

SANDUSKY — On Feb. 16, the Clean Water Contractor Expo took place at the Cedar Point Sports Center in Sandusky. About 135 total attendees came to speak, network and learn about "simple yet effective sediment and erosion control practices that will help contractors and companies perform their jobs more efficiently, sustainably and in compliance," according to an organizational statement. Evergreen Seed Supplies served as a leading sponsor and displayed one of its hydroseeders in the venue lobby. This year's expo featured speakers from Davey Resource Group, Cuyahoga Soil and Water and the Ohio EPA and was sponsored by six different companies with 14 different exhibitors. The Clean Water Contractor Program is made possible through a partnership of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Ohio Coastal Training Program and the Erie Conservation District. "This state-local partnership allows a dynamic approach to stormwater management, targeting both local and regional contractors within the Lake Erie Watershed," the statement read. "The Clean Water Contractor Program works to equip site contractors with the knowledge and skills necessary to comply with permit requirements and achieve clean waterways through innovative and refined practices."
