Easterseals auction happens Saturday

SANDUSKY — Join Easterseals Northern Ohio for the organization's biggest fundraising event of the year, its 32nd annual auction at the Sandusky Mall, this weekend. Patti Powers, a coordinator and member for Easterseals Northern Ohio, spoke Monday on "Between the Lines Live." The 15-minute interview is available on sanduskyregister.com and the Register's YouTube channel. The annual auction will occur from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. "Local businesses from Northern Ohio provided all items featured in the auction this year, featuring over 250 items. Powers said that there is something for everyone." Those who wish to view the list of items ahead of time can do so by visiting easterseals2023.givesmart.com. The website won't fully be launched until Thursday as Patti is still collecting the items for the auction. People can also pick up a copy of the Register on Thursday or Friday to view a list of auction items. Powers said that although people don't have to be there physically to participate in the auction, she does encourage people to attend the event in person. "Items that you are interested in are allotted a specific time, so if you're not able to attend for the whole day, you can check the schedule to see when the desired item will be auctioned," Powers said. Easterseals Northern Ohio's mission is to help individuals with special needs and their families. The foundation was started in 1907, Ohio-businessman Edgar Allen after losing his son in a streetcar accident. "Your winning bid is a charitable donation for the program," Powers said.
