Firelands' foundation introduces new officer

SANDUSKY — Firelands Health recently introduced Jody Mast as The Foundation for Firelands' new development officer. Mast has extensive fundraising experience through her volunteerism over the years serving in the community. She is a past president and the current vice president of Huron Schools' board of education and has volunteered with the Firelands Regional Medical Center Auxiliary for seven years. "Jody is excited about creating new partnerships within the community to help improve the lives of Firelands' patients," according to an organizational statement. "She is especially excited to share the unique ways that The Foundation for Firelands impacts the lives of your friends, family and loved ones who may be battling cancer or other serious health diagnoses." Mast looks forward to the opportunity. "Through our fundraising events at The Foundation for Firelands, we have the ability and resources to lessen the stress of the growing bills a patient may attain when they are too ill to work," Mast said. She expressed her compassion for those who may need support from the foundation. "I'm excited to get a message of hope out to people when cancer or other unexpected diagnoses disrupt their lives," Mast said. She is married to Eric Mast, a doctor of osteopathic medicine, with the Firelands Physician Group. They have three adult children. She enjoys preparing gourmet meals, boating, excersing and reading. The Foundation for Firelands raises funds to support and enhance patient care at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.
