Perkins boys, girls win Lake bowling titles

The Perkins boys and girls both won SBC Lake Division bowling titles this year. The Pirates had three of the five all-conference first-team boys finishers as well as the top two girls finishers, by scoring average. Perkins' boys finished the Sandusky Bay Conference season with 31 points, edging second-place Sandusky (29.5) for the overall title. The Perkins girls finished first with 33 points. Sandusky was second at 23.5. Port Clinton's boys (17) and girls (19) both finished third. Teams earned two points for each dual win and 1.5 points for each team they finished ahead of at the conference tournament. Sandusky senior Zach Sennish was the Lake boys Most Outstanding Bowler for the third straight year. He finished with a 234.8 average. Sennish's season was highlighted by a school-record 588 two-game series rolled against Perkins in January at Cedar Lanes. He had games of 300 and 288. Perkins' Aiden Biggert (209.7), Clyde's Trevor Byers (191.9), Perkins' Connor Beverick (190.4) and Perkins' Dom Tordi (183.7) rounded out the Lake first team. Perkins freshman Olivia Lizzi was the Lake girls Most Outstanding Bowler with a 196.4 average. She had a high game of 278 this season. She was joined on the first team by Perkins junior Leah Kaufman (189.0), Sandusky sophomore Jady Voegle (178.0), Port Clinton's Amelia Honeycutt (177.9) and Vermilion's Isabella Phillips (175.5). Voegle was the division MVP last year. Perkins and Sandusky have split the last six Lake Division girls titles. Perkins' boys and girls will compete in Division II sectional action this week in Port Clinton. Sandusky's teams will bowl in Division I sectionals next week in Fremont. Willard won boys and girls team titles in the Bay Division. Margaretta'a Mariah Fields was the Bay girls Most Outstanding Bowler with a 173.8 season average.
