A sweet reopening for The Honey Hole

MILAN TWP. — There's a lot of buzz concerning The Honey Hole's latest move. It's because, during a grand opening ceremony on Tuesday, many shoppers flocked to the Milan-area discount store's newest location, still within Avery Commerce Park at Milan (U.S. 250) and West Mason roads near EHOVE Career Center. It just moved from one storefront to another, now visible from Milan Road. "We relocated because we outgrew our old space," said Nate Spaulding, who co-owns the business with his wife, Aimee. "We now have double the space, provide more items on our showroom for customers, (and the space) is better organized and is handicap accessible. We're able to provide more products as well." First opening in 2018, The Honey Hole offers discounts on name-brand and high-quality appliances, furniture, household items, toys, kitchenware and more. Employees acquire items through various means. For instance, they buy products marked as "overstock" from other companies. Other times, they purchase merchandise with damages on their boxes. "But, before we sell anything, we test it and make sure it works," Aimee said. Aimee can sympathize with families on a budget. "When we bought a house, I remember having to make a lot of difficult decisions on what to buy and what not to buy," said Aimee, who lives in Norwalk with Nate. "A couch was $1,000, and I didn't have enough money to buy other things. So we do our best to understand that for others, and that's why we want to offer discounts on everything we offer." Both welcome customers to visit The Honey Hole, open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. "We have the same great deals as before but just in a bigger, better location that can offer more," Nate said.
