Friday's Level 3 downgraded to Level 2

Just before 10 a.m. Saturday, the Erie County Sheriff's Office downgraded the winter weather road advisory, dropping from a Level 3, in effect since about 6 a.m. Friday, to a Level 2. It made a post on social media, which still describes the roads as still hazardous. Level 3 Winter Weather Road Condition Warning has been downgraded to a Level 2 winter weather road condition advisory. Crews have made significant progress in clearing the roadways, and the visibility has greatly improved from yesterday, however, roadways are still hazardous due to driving in isolated areas throughout the county. Please drive with caution if you have to venture out. The Ohio Turnpike remains closed in both directions between U.S. 250 and (Ohio) 53. Due to this closure, traffic is being diverted off the turnpike onto local roadways. A large number of commercial trucks are sitting in the southbound lane of (Ohio) 4 between the turnpike entrance and Mason Road, waiting for the turnpike to reopen. Please avoid this area.
