Say hello to Mellow Yellow Pizzeria

NORWALK — Spouses Eric and Susie Roberts are tickled pink every time a person patronizes their new food truck: Mellow Yellow Pizzeria. It's because, according to them, they're in for a real treat. "Anytime someone orders from us, they are going to get the best pizza they've ever had," Eric said. "Our pizzas are better than anything you can get around here. That's not me being conceited. That's the truth." Earlier this year, they debuted the mobile business. Both Eric and Susie, who have vast experience in the food industry, explained the name Mellow Yellow Pizzeria. It's prominently featured on the company's trailer from where the pair make and serve pizzas along with calzones. "We decided on that because yellow is supposed to make you hungry," said Susie, pointing to the brightly colored yellow trailer. "And there is a method to our mayhem, and we are really mellow laid-back people. This is truly our dream, and we made it happen." Mellow Yellow offers a variety of hand-tossed, fresh-baked, made-to-order pizzas. People can customize them with various toppings or select from a specialty menu item. Among some favorites include the Italian Stallion, the Honey Bee and the Big Dill. "We're not skimpy with the toppings," Susie said. "You are going to get your money's worth." Mellow Yellow often parks at various spots across Huron County, including on: • Sundays and Fridays at Roberts Rentals on Schaeffer Road in Norwalk • Saturdays at Muffleheads Brewing Co. in Wakeman • Various weekdays at the Borgers Group in Norwalk People can visit the company's social media pages for more locations and precise hours. They welcome anyone to stop by for a slice or a whole pie. "We make our pizzas in a way as to how we would want them," Eric said. "This isn't chain pizza. This is the pizza you grew up on. And that's why they are so good."
