Dentist inducted into prestigious organization

VERMILION — The International College of Dentists USA Section recently presented Dr. Ihor N. Suszko, doctor of dental surgery, with membership into the prestigious organization for service rendered in the art and science of dentistry. The International College of Dentists is the pre-eminent honor society of the world's outstanding dentists involved in its mission statement of "serving others." The organization is dedicated to the recognition of outstanding professional achievement, meritorious service and continued progress in the profession of dentistry. "Suszko exemplifies the core values of integrity, leadership and service" and was recently inducted as a fellow of the International College of Dentists at its 88th Annual Convocation in Houston, Texas, according to an organizational statement. More than 300 dentists from the U.S. received induction during this year's ceremony. The college has chapters in more than 120 countries worldwide and more than 12,000 members, including 6,000 in the U.S. He was nominated by colleague Thomas Montagnese. Suszko was a local practitioner for 40 years before turning over the practice to Kyle Eberhardt DDS of Harbourtown Family Dentistry in Vermilion. For the past 15 years, Suszko has also served as a tenured professor and program director for the dental hygiene program at Lorain County Community College.
