Commence with the Catawba Islander Trail

CATAWBA ISLAND — As part of the Park District of Ottawa County's vision to "connect people, places and parks", the organization has retained Poggemeyer Design Group to develop the Catawba Islander Trail and Greenway master plan. The plan will be utilized to determine preferred options for a multi-use trail from the north end of Catawba Island to the south end of Catawba Island, approximately 5 miles, to be completed in phases. In order to share components of the plan and gain public feedback, the district will host a public open house event from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the Catawba Township Community Hall, 3307 NW Catawba Road Port Clinton. Engineers, planners, district staff and members of the district's Catawba advisory council, among others, will be available for questions and discussion. Maps and renderings will be on display, and a short presentation will be provided from 6:45-7 p.m. Refreshments will also be served. The master plan development also includes a 10-minute survey available surveymonkey.com/r/Catawba_Islander. Paper surveys will be available at the open house on Oct. 26.
