Perkins celebrates homecoming

PERKINS TWP. — Perkins High School crowned its homecoming royalty this week. Members of the school's 2022 homecoming court are: • Queen Kylie Swain, the daughter of Ryan and Janay Swain; and King Franklin Whipple, the son of Dawn and Todd Whipple • Senior first runners-up: Cameron Kaufman, the daughter of Michael and Sarah Kaufman; and Landon Kim, the son of Joseph and Aimee Kim • Senior second runners-up: Sophia Carson, the daughter of Kyria Carson; and Jayden Rowe, the son of April Rowe • EHOVE attendants: Leanna Marianek, the daughter of Sharre Morrey and Christian Marianek; and Cadan Swart, the son of Aimee Marcil and Jared Swart • Junior attendants: Makenna Garza, the daughter of Nicole Clemons and Jordan Garza; and Adam West, the son of Jessica Gilliam • Sophomore attendants: Hailey Kubitz, the daughter of Geno and Michelle Kubitz; and Sawyer Smith, the son of Bill and Shannon Smith • Freshmen attendants: Zionna Walker, daughter of Heidi and Jaquan Walker; and Nathan Jones, the son of Kimberly Rosin. This week's Candyland theme invited students to wear colorful outfits (Skittles), plan twinning outfits (Twix) and dress up as comedian Adam Sandler (Laffy Taffy), and more. On Friday, the homecoming parade featuring Perkins Schools students will leave the Erie County Fairgrounds at 5:30 p.m. It will turn south onto Columbus Avenue and west onto Marshall Avenue before turning onto South Avenue toward Briar Middle School. The homecoming court will be introduced prior to the start of the football game at 6:30 p.m. and will be escorted across the field by their parents or guardians. The football game kickoff is at 7 p.m. against Clyde. The homecoming dance, for high school students only, will be from 8-10 p.m. Saturday in the high school gym.
