Port Clinton inducts 5 into athletic hall of fame

PORT CLINTON -- Port Clinton High School welcomed its 2022 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees in a ceremony held Saturday at the Elks Lodge. These five inductees were recognized during the Redskins' home football game Friday night: Coach Don Drusbacky has long-served the Port Clinton City School District as a teacher and coach. He has been honored for 50 years of service to the boys basketball program and received the Bob Arnzen Award presented by the OHSAA for longevity at a member school. In addition to serving as head football coach at his alma mater, he also served as the interim basketball coach after the passing of Tom Bodager. Chelsea Beck Carvalho, 2010, was a standout tennis player for the Redskins from 2006-2009. She concluded her high school career with 121 wins, tied for the most all-time at PC. In addition to being a multiple SBC champion, Beck Carvalho qualified for the state tournament four times. After graduation she attended Tiffin University and totaled 120 wins, including 75 in doubles, second all-time at Tiffin when she graduated. Allie Reynolds, 2011, was a standout in swimming and track and field. In the pool, she was a member of multiple relays that earned All-Ohio honors. In track, Reynolds was an SBC and district champion in the shot put and discus. She also was a district champion, a regional runner-up and state runner-up in the discus as a senior. She competed in swimming and track at Bowling Green State University. Marcus Hunt, 2010, was a 4-year lettermen in golf. Hunt was first-team All-SBC three years and was the SBC Player of the Year as a junior and senior. In OHSAA tournament play, he advanced to the district tourney four times and was a two-time sectional medalist. Hunt graduated from the University of Findlay where he was a four-year lettermen on the golf team. He was All-GLIAC two years and All-Midwest Region one year. Niul Manske, 1994, earned eight varsity letters in cross country, swimming and track. He was a member of the 1991 SBC championship cross country team and was an SBC champion in the 1600. He's also the school record-holder in the 200 free relay in swimming. Manske attended Trinity University where he set a school record in the 1500 meters. Manske went on to be a pentathlete and was ranked No. 1 in the USA and No. 9 in the world. He was a 2006 Pan American Games champion.
