SANDUSKY — Put on your knickers and get ready to relive yesteryear as the Cedar Point Boardwalk is reimagined for 2023. Following the removal of Wicked Twister, Cedar Point promised to revamp the area into something everyone would enjoy. After seeing the 2023 improvement plans, the park appears to be really rounding out that area. The anchor to the site will be the new Grand Pavilion. The new bi-level complex will feature an all new restaurant, a lake view bar, indoor and outdoor seating as well as viewing decks of both the park and shoreline. The excitement and nostalgia of Cedar Point's classic lakeside experience will be celebrated in a whole new way in 2023 when the park opens The Boardwalk, a new themed area just steps away from the very Lake Erie shoreline that made Cedar Point famous. The Boardwalk is a modern interpretation of the Cedar Point of yesteryear. New ride, dining and entertainment experiences for the entire family will complement the improvements coming to the former Lakeside Midway. Where the site really gets interesting is with a new roller coaster and moving of some of the parks other attractions to this site for a more traditional boardwalk experience. Cedar Point will be adding a Zamperla Wild Mouse. This free spinning model will provide a different experience with each ride, traversing the 52-foot-tall attraction at 1,312 feet long. The ride is also perfect for those families just starting to make their way into the bigger attractions, as guests only need to be 42 inches tall with supervising companion or 48 inches on their own. It should be noted that Cedar Point also claims ito Wild Mouse will be the 18th roller coaster, begging the question of if Top Thrill Dragster will reopen in 2023. In addition, the Boardwalk will also have some additional improvements: • Scrambler will be moved over to the midway and rethemed as Atomic Scrambler. • Tiki Twirler will be rethemed to the classic Calypso. • Matterhorn will also be relocated to the Boardwalk midway. This provides some very interesting speculation on the future, as the moving of Matterhorn and Scrambler begins to paint an interesting future for that area of the park. While it might have been sad to see Wicked Twister removed, we now get an entire expansive area to explore in 2023, with all new midway and landscaping. So, are you ready to play cat and mouse?
