Paying child support has never been easier

Ohio's Child Support Program provides services to over 1 million children in our state. County child support agencies work diligently to ensure that these children receive financial support for a better future. The child support program encourages responsible parenting, family self-sufficiency and child well-being. Agencies provide services to locate parents, establish parentage, establish child support and medical support orders, collect and distribute child support, modify orders when circumstances have changed and enforce orders that are not being paid. County child support agencies provide services to families of all types, from divorcing parents to unmarried parents, to caretaker relatives, to children in the foster care program and others regardless of family income. Locally, the Erie County child support agency administers more than 6,000 cases and collects in excess of $12 million in child support each year. Support is key for children to grow up happy and strong. Please contact your county child support agency if you have questions about child support. This year, the Erie County Child Support Enforcement Agency will be offering an amnesty program for the month of August for the reinstatement of driver licenses. If you are under a driver's license suspension from Erie County Child Support Enforcement Agency and pay one month's obligation plus report employment or register at OhioMeansJobs, we will be able to reinstate your license. Here is some more information on how to make payments: Online • Visit oh.smartchildsupport.com • Debit Card / Credit Card - Make a one-time payment or set up recurring payments with your debit or credit card. • If you have your credit/debit card linked to an e-wallet account — such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or Venmo — you can make your payment using these alternate payment options. • Child support web portal at jfs.ohio.gov/ocs/custservwebportalwelcome2.stm • Mobile app by searching for "Ohio child support," which is available on Google Play or the Apple Store. Phone • Credit card payments can also be made over the phone by calling 1-888-965-2676, ext. 5. Mail People can submit a payment using a personal check, money order or cashier's check. Make checks payable to Ohio CSPC and mail to: Ohio CSPC P.O. Box 182372 Columbus, OH 43218-2394 Be sure to include your name, your Social Security number (optional), your SETS Case Number (a 10-digit number that begins with a 7), your court order number and the amount that should be applied to each case (if you have more than one case) In-person You may make cash payments from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at the Erie County Child Support Enforcement Agency, 221 W. Parish St. Sandusky. The agency will also accept checks or money orders made payable to Ohio CSPC. Cash payments must be for the exact amount. The Agency does not make change. The agency has a drop box at the back of the building, by the employee entrance, where you can make payments, provide verifications or documents for your worker. Envelopes are available at the box.
