Cedar Point Nights kicks off this weekend

Does sand between your toes, fire pits and games on the beach, drinks in hand and music playing in the background sound like a perfect summer night? People can experience that starting this weekend with the kickoff of Cedar Point Nights. Running nightly July 29 through Aug. 21 from 7 to 11 pm, Cedar Point Nights returns for endless summer fun with family and friends. This year, the event is centered around the Fitzgerald family, a fictitious group of four members that spend their summers on the Cedar Point beach and are here to tell you the tales of seasons past. If you have participated in Cedar Point Nights in years past, then you will know the area really comes alive for great family fun. In addition to beach games like volleyball and cornhole, the park brings in all kinds of additional games, lounge chairs, fire pits and a live DJ (of the famous Fitzgerald family) to make sure the area stays rocking into the night. The event is free for guests to experience regardless if you are visiting the amusement or water park for the day, a hotel guest, or just a visiting guest. Park admission is not required to access the beach, but guests will need to pay to park. As the park works towards its new vision of the Cedar Point boardwalk in 2023, there are also some additional charge options guests may want to partake in. This includes all new games of chance to win prizes like glow ring toss, light-up the net, a prize wheel and ring around the seagull. New for 2022, Cedar Point will offer premium bungalows on the beach with your own private couches, fire pit, bar service, access to the new Cedar Point Luau menu, and a free Boardwalk Cruiser tour. This year the Cedar Point Nights menu is themed around a luau. Guests will purchase "sand dollars" to redeem menu items with a large selection of options from things like pineapple and teriyaki chicken skewers, perch street tacos, walleye bites with spicy remoulade and Hawaiian dream cake. The park will also offer a variety of adult beverages which include signature drink bags with options like Strawberrita, Henny Raz and White Lightning, plus a new blue riptide fish bowl which you will be sure to see us sipping from the lounge chairs.
