'Experience' all of Kharma

SANDUSKY — Inside Kharma Salon & Boutique, people can feel beautiful all over on the outside.Amy Beatty runs Kharma Spa Experience, a full-service spa offering non-toxic facials, manicures, pedicures, makeup, massages and more. The spa, within Kharma's building on West Water Street in downtown Sandusky, opened about eight years ago."When (owner Jami Camp) opened the salon, I opened the spa," said Beatty, who recently celebrated her 30th year as a licensed cosmetologist earlier on in 2019. Beatty remains in the industry because of her loyal and dedicated clientele."I just love making people feel good about themselves and going above and beyond for them," said Beatty, who still accepts new clients.Camp called Beatty and the spa's other dedicated worker, Jordin Sidoti, a makeup artist, as valuable employees serving Kharma's customers."They will probably get the best experience they've ever had," Beatty said. Jordin SidotiBeatty, who's from Sandusky, enjoys seeing all the progressive activity happening in and around her workspace. She's got a front-row seat to an ongoing overhaul of Shoreline Drive and Jackson Street Pier."You can't beat the view," said Beatty, who's married to her husband, Mike. The two have one adult son. "It's beautiful being on the water. I love all the shops and restaurants here, and the camaraderie with everyone is so great. I've lived here my whole life. I'm a Sandusky girl.
