Jersey Mike's coming to Sandusky

PERKINS TWP. — The local area is getting a taste of the Garden State. Jersey Mike's Subs intends on establishing its first Sandusky-area restaurant on Milan Road (U.S. 250) in Perkins Township. More specifically, along with a cellphone retailer, it'll go inside a storefront once occupied by Rapid Fired Pizza, 4315 Milan Road. "Both units are being built out, but I think Jersey Mike's is looking to a fall opening," Kula Lynch, Hoty Enterprise's corporate counsel, told the Register on Wednesday. Hoty owns the building and acts as a landlord for these tenants. Headquartered in New Jersey, and operating more than 2,000 locations, Jersey Mike's provided a brief bio about the company on its website. "Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's serves authentic East Coast-style subs on fresh baked bread — the same recipe it started with over 60 years ago. The company's mission is to bring its customers the highest quality, freshest made sub in the industry and give back to the communities in which it operates." The restaurant offers both cold and hot subs among other items like chips and soft drinks. Some popular choices include the Jersey Shore's Favorite, which features provolone, ham and cappacuolo; and the Grilled Portabella Mushroom & Swiss.
