Big changes for Cedar Point Shores wave pool

SANDUSKY — Guests accessing the Cedar Point Shores wave pool, Breakwater Bay, this season will notice a big change to how access is implemented. A guest on opening day noticed that the entire wave pool is now fenced off with a single, limited access point into and out of the pool. Lifeguards now can monitor access into the wave pool and ensure that guests under 4 feet, 4 inches, or 52 inches, are wearing a provided life vest. Per the Cedar Point Shores website: "Life jackets are required for guests who are less than 52 inches tall in bare feet, participants with a history of seizures, or similar medical conditions, heart conditions or those who are inexperienced or non-swimmers. Guests who are less than 42 inches tall must wear life jackets and be accompanied by a supervising companion. A supervising companion may accompany up to two guests." The new fence installed around Breakwater Bay also prevents guests from placing chairs in the wave pool like in years past. Similar changes have been implemented at other Cedar Fair parks, like Kings Island and Michigan's Adventure.
