Barbara Ellen (Everson) Leto

SANDUSKY — Barbara Ellen (Everson) Leto, 77, of Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, May 16, 2022, at her son's home in Mt. Orab, Ohio, after a lengthy battle with cervical cancer. Born on March 30, 1945, In Sandusky, the daughter of Wayne Edmund and Ruth Harriett (Abele) Everson. She was a 1963 graduate of Sandusky High School and had later graduated from the Ohio State School of Cosmetology in 1964. In her younger days, she had worked as a hairstylist and later went on to work at JCPenney as a jewelry specialist for several years before retiring. Over the years, Barb enjoyed singing and playing the trombone. She had a love for music and had been involved with the Erie County/OSU Alumni Band and the North Coast Concert Band (Big Band). Barb is survived by her son, Michael Joseph (Michelle) Leto of Mt. Orab, Ohio; her two granddaughters, Sarah Marie and Sophia Michelle Leto; a brother, Terry (Virginia) Everson of Sandusky; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Vincent W. Leto on Feb. 10, 2022; and other relatives. Visitation will be from 11 am until the time of the funeral services, at 1 p.m., on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Wally Gilbert will be officiating. It was her wish to be cremated following the funeral service and to have her cremains placed on her son, Vincent's, grave at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
