OBW band lineup

SANDUSKY — If Ohio Bike Week is only known for three things, they are bikes, brews and bands. The summer festival hosted in Sandusky for more than a decade has seemingly always provided top-tier talent for the hundreds of thousands of attendees. In the past, OBW has presented the likes of Loverboy, Saliva, Ted Nugent and David Allen Coe. This year is no different. More than 30 bands will rock 'n' roll in downtown Sandusky over the course of the ten-day rally. Mark Farner, founding member of Grand Funk Railroad, will bring his American Band to the Barrel House Saloon outdoor stage on Friday. The next night, Molly Hatchet will play the same stage. Molly Hatchet is perhaps best known for its 1979 hit "Flirtin' with Disaster." The song reached 42 in Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Bike Week's world-famous block party returns after a two-year absence. OBW was canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19. In 2021, organizers did not host a block party due to uncertainty with pandemic restrictions from the state. The block party occurs during the first weekend of June. Starting on Thursday, June 2, Jackyl will perform at the Progressive Insurance main concert stage at Jackson Street Pier. Jackyl is known for performing during the first night of the block party. The band has a Southern heavy metal sound. Frontman Jesse James Dupree is known for performing with a chainsaw during the band's "The Lumberjack." Lita Ford will perform at the main concert stage on Friday night. Ford began playing guitar at 11. At 16, she joined the all-female band The Runaways who were probably best known for their hit song "Cherry Bomb." Ford embarked on a 13-year solo career in 1982. She then took a nine-year hiatus, focusing on raising her sons, James and Rocco. She returned to the stage in 2008. The final night of the block party will feature American glam metal band Slaughter. Formed in 1988, the band played in Sandusky nearly 25 years ago. The band played the former Bourbon Street bar on Columbus Avenue in July 1997. All headliner shows are free. VIP access is available for a fee.
