PREP ROUNDUP: Blue Streaks rally past Clyde

CLYDE — Sandusky's baseball team trailed by a run entering the seventh inning on the road Wednesday. But the Blue Streaks scored three runs and put up a zero to claim a 6-4 win at Clyde. "It really showed us something. That's what we've been preaching to them, we know we can play like that… We didn't hang our heads," Sandusky coach Zack Moots said. "We really battled." Mason Harvey started the rally with a single, which Elijah Knerr followed with a walk. Kam Woods moved the runners with a sacrifice. Xavier Willis drove in a run on a groundout before a Shawn Delk squeeze bunt that included an error scored Knerr. "It was contributions throughout the lineup, even guys that didn't have a hit," Moots said. Elijah Baker created the final margin with another run-scoring groundout. Sandusky (2-13, 2-5 SBC Lake) scored its first run in the second when Daquaris Brown came across on a passed ball. The Blue Streaks added two in the fifth on a wild pitch and a Baker RBI single. Baker pitched a complete game to earn the win. He allowed just one earned run and struck out one while throwing 123 pitches. He's been the winning pitcher in both of Sandusky's wins this season, including an upset at Norwalk. "He was in form just like that earlier game against Norwalk," Moots said. "... Today, he only had one strikeout, and it was the last hitter of the game. He was keeping them off balance."
