Area Financial Services names new president, CEO

BELLEVUE — This past week, Area Financial Services, a credit union-owned Credit Union Service Organization, announced Michael Tindall has been named president and chief executive officer. Founded in 1986 and located in Fremont, Area Financial Services provides data processing, technology, development and member-contact services to seven Ohio credit unions. These credit unions include Directions Credit Union, Firelands Federal Credit Union, Fremont Federal Credit Union, Glass City Federal Credit Union, Impact Credit Union, Nueva Esperanza Community Credit Union and Midwest Community Federal Credit Union. Prior to his new role, Tindall served in various positions at Area Financial Services, including interim president/CEO from January 2021 to October 2021, when officially appointed the new title, and, more formerly, as executive vice president of information technology. "Since joining the organization in 2011, he has developed a passion for serving credit unions and leveraging his technology background to provide quality and affordable solutions to credit union members," according to a company statement. "Most recently, Tindall played a key role in converting credit unions of the Credit Union Service Organization to a new core processing software, Corelation Keystone, and expanding the business by adding a member contact center to serve credit union members." Tindall said he's "excited" to lead the organization. "I believe we have the team and partners to deliver quality shared services to our credit unions," Tindall said. "The future in front of us is extremely bright."
