Owners to press play on SportSocial

SANDUSKY — Whatever the sports-centric phrase — be it kicking, teeing or tipping off — it's game on for a new business in downtown Sandusky. Get ready for Clubhouse No.3 SportSocial on East Water Street near Paddle Bar to publicly open this weekend. It's located inside the former E&K Wine Co. structure. It's "a sports-forward, activity-based gathering place where friends and family can spend time playing their favorite sports using simulators with the latest technology and physically interactive games including shuffleboard, giant Connect 4, giant Jenga and the latest pinball machines," said Ryan Tamburrino, a partner with Tambo Entertainment, the company running Clubhouse No.3. He's operating it with his brother, Maxx, and their father, Steve. "Complementing the activities, Clubhouse No.3 also features a full-service cocktail bar, including 20 craft beers on tap," Ryan added. Their investment totals about $600,000 with 10%, or $60,000, coming from Sandusky's local government economic development fund. "The city provided the grant to Tambo Entertainment because its development of Clubhouse No.3 will revitalize a long-vacant building space, increase employment and economic activity and create a new year-round attraction in the city of Sandusky," said Jonathan Holody, the city's community development director. Such a venue pairs with the area's many amenities, Ryan said, making this an endeavor worth pursuing. It's also the first-of-its-kind company in Sandusky, he mentioned. "With the renaissance of downtown Sandusky, there are plenty of great places to eat and drink. We feel that by providing these activities, while creating a fun place to gather with friends, people will stay downtown for longer periods of time."
