Michael 'Mike' Myers

CANTON, North Carolina — Michael "Mike" Myers, 73, passed away at his home in Canton, North Carolina on Sunday, April 10, 2022. He was born in Kingsport, Tennessee but lived most of his life in the Sandusky/Milan, Ohio area. Mike was the son of the late Sherrill H. Myers and Gladys Powell Kropp. Mike served his country and was a proud U.S. Marine and a Vietnam veteran. He received the Purple Heart and many other medals during his service. Mike loved to play golf, shoot pool, travel and work in his workshop. He always had a kind word and love for others. He was employed at Industrial Nut Corporation of Sandusky, Ohio and retired after 47 years. Mike is survived by his wife of 18 years, Marilyn Fender Myers; brothers, Tony Myers (Charlotte) of Sandusky and Tim Myers (Vicki) of Huron; and several nieces and nephews. A service will take place at at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2022, in the chapel of Madison Funeral Services, Marshall, North Carolina with the Revs. Jake Fender and Joshua Boyd officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will occur at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 14 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, North Carolina. A special "thank you" to the doctors and staff at Charles George VA Medical Center and Four Seasons Hospice.
