SOFTBALL: Fields strikes out 10 in Bears win

CLYDE — Mariah Fields earned her second win in as many days in the circle as Margaretta pulled out a 7-4 win at Clyde on Thursday night. The victory marked a 2-0 start to the Dale Dawson era for the Polar Bears. Fields struck out 10 and threw six shutout innings before the Fliers got on the board in the seventh. The junior pitcher added a double and an RBI. The Polar Bears' offense was led by two-hit days from Jamie Opfer, Alayna Pemberton and Lilly Edwards. Senior catcher Phoebe Dreschel drove in three runs. Margaretta was also active on the bases, getting two steals apiece from Edwards, Opfer and Addie Kromer.
