Bellevue plastic factory bought for $4.5 million

BELLEVUE — An Iowa-based company recently purchased the Wilbert Plastic Services factory in Bellevue for more than $4 million.Engineered Plastic Components (EPC), Inc., purchased the Wilbert Plastic Services plants in Bellevue and Lebanon, Kentucky, in April. EPC will also maintain the Troy, Michigan, facility."We are very excited about this transaction, as it will increase our footprint and ability to service all of our customers better," said Reza Kargarzadeh, EPC president and CEO.Amanda Harrell, a spokeswoman for the company, said she couldn't confirm the purchase price, but Huron County Auditor records show the Bellevue factory was purchased for $4.5 million on Monday.Engineered Plastic Components, Inc. purchased the 202,000 square foot Bellevue factory.Both factories use injection molding to manufacture interior trim and appliances for the automotive and other industries, according to a company news release.The 202,000-square-foot Bellevue factory, on Southwest Street, has 70 injection molding machines and employs 225 people."Both EPC management and Wilbert Plastic Services have worked closely for the past several months to make sure this transaction was a success and seamless to their customers," Harrell said.Kargarzadeh founded Engineered Plastic Components in 1994.
