Sandusky man indicted on murder charge

SANDUSKY — The Sandusky man accused of murdering a 24-year-old woman in her home on Aspen Run Road has been indicted on aggravated murder charges in Erie County. Tevin Q. Latin, 26, was indicted this in the Erie County Court of Common Pleas. Latin is suspected of killing his ex-girlfriend, Trinidy Jones, in her home on Jan. 5. His other charges include aggravated burglary, having weapons under disability and tampering with evidence. Jones was found dead in her apartment. The Lucas County coroner ruled the cause of death was two gunshots. Jones' two young children were in the home when she was found. Latin was found 11 days later in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was allegedly hiding out with another Sandusky murder suspect, Maleek Aaron, who was also arrested at the same time as Latin, Sandusky police Chief Jared Oliver said. Latin has been jailed at Erie County Jail since his extradition, and he remains incarcerated there as of Friday on a $1 million bond. Latin has previous convictions in Erie County from 2015 on charges of aggravated burglary and participating in a gang. As of Friday afternoon, no court dates have been scheduled for Latin in the common pleas court. Read more on these stories below:
