Report: Man assaulted with bat over parking dispute

SANDUSKY — A Sandusky man allegedly broke another man's nose with a baseball bat. Perry Street resident Dominique D. Morris, 27, was arrested Tuesday on one count of felonious assault after he allegedly bashed a man's face with a bat the evening prior. At about 8 p.m. Monday, Sandusky police were called to the 1600 block of Milan Road for a disturbance, according to a police report. When the officers arrived, the caller told them a man hit him in the head with a bat. The man was "bleeding profusely" from the nose area, had bruising around his eye and blood on his shirt, according to the report. Police later learned the victim suffered a fracture to his eye and nose. The man said his neighbor backed into his car in their shared parking lot, the two of them began to argue over the situation. Morris, who was with the man's neighbor, allegedly grabbed a bat from the neighbor's residence, pulled a ski mask over his face and struck him in the face with the bat before leaving the scene. Morris was later arrested on Tuesday at the city's probation office, the report states. As of Friday afternoon, Morris remains in the Erie County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
