Treasurer's office accepting off-site tax payments

SANDUSKY — Earlier this week, Erie County treasurer Caleb Stidham announced that, for the first time, the treasurer's office will accept tax payments at five off-site locations throughout Erie County for this year's real estate tax collection. The treasurer's office will be collecting payments for 2021 property tax at five upcoming dates in February before the due date of Wednesday, Feb. 16. Taxpayers can utilize a variety of payment methods including cash, check, money order or debit/credit card. Tax bills must be presented at the time of payment. Listed below are dates and times of collection events: • Noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at the Huron Public Library, 333 Williams St., Huron • Noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at the Milan Public Library, 19 Church St., Milan • Noon to 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7 at KeyBank, 4700 Liberty Ave., Vermilion • Noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at the Firelands Association of Realtors, 2710 Campbell St., Sandusky • Noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at the Margaretta Township Hall, 114 Main St., Castalia "We are excited to announce these new events to make property tax payments more convenient for residents all throughout Erie County," Stidham said. "When I ran for treasurer, I promised to make this office more accessible to taxpayers. This is another step we're taking to fulfill that promise." In addition to the off-site locations, the treasurer's office — located at 247 Columbus Ave. Suite 115, Sandusky, OH 44870 — will have extended hours of 7:30 a.m to 5 p.m., starting Monday through the tax collection due date of Wednesday, Feb. 16.
