PUT-IN-BAY — Those representing Put-in-Bay's chamber of commerce and tourism bureau recently released its 2022 entertainment calendar, featuring many fun events. Here are some of the more notable events: May 10 • Blessing of the Fleet: Local clergy is blessing the boats and aircraft at 11 a.m. at Fox's Dock. May 14 • Island Wide Garage Sale: Join merchants and homeowners for the Island Wide Garage sale. The locations of the garage sale are available the week of the garage sale. June 11 • 48th Founder's Day: From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at DeRivera Park, 100 Delaware Ave., the island is celebrating the 48th anniversary of its founding by Jose DeRivera. The event offers vendors, food and activities. June 24-26 • Put-in-Bay Pyrate Fest XIII. Visit to facebook.com/pyratefest for more information. — Pyrates invade on the night of June 24, and then a bar crawl follows at 5 p.m. — June 25 is full of fun for the entire family. — June 26 is the Kid's Fest. July 4 • 4th of July Celebration: Celebrate Independence Day with fireworks and other festivities. July 9-10 • 6 vs 6 Soccer Cup: Head to the island for the annual soccer tournament. The tournament takes place on McCann's Field, located on Toledo Avenue. Aug. 13 • Lakeview Volleyball - Battle of Put-in-Bay: Join in for a day of volleyball at Put-in-Bay's volleyball tournament. The tournament takes place on McCann's Field. Aug. 24-25 • Bash on the Bay: Bash on the Bay returns with performances by Brad Paisley and the Zac Brown Band. The two-day country music festival takes place at the Put-in-Bay Airport. More information about the festival is on visitputinbay.com. Sept. 10 • Art in the Park: Local artists and crafters sell original works from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at DeRivera Park. In addition to the market, the event includes live demonstrations and a silent auction. Sept. 17 • Put-in-Bay Music Festival: This family-friendly music festival features food, games and great music. • New Year's Eve at the Bay: Ring in New Year's Eve a bit early with Put-in-Bay businesses and Monte Carlo street games. This event is from 6-11 p.m. Sept. 20-23 • Put-in-Bay Road Races: Head to the island to look at or show off vintage sports cars at the Put-in-Bay Road Races Reunion. Owners and drivers of these cars are invited to participate in racing-related events and activities. Oct. 1 • Island Wine Festival: Enjoy food and wine from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Put-in-Bay Winery, 392 Bayview Drive. At the festival, there is a silent auction to benefit the Lake Erie Island Historical Society as well. Oct. 8-9 • Oktoberfest: Head to Put-in-Bay for its annual Oktoberfest celebration from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 8 and from noon to 5 p.m. on Oct. 9. The festival is set with German food and spirits for all to enjoy. Oct. 22 • Halloween at the Bay: Head to the island to get into the Halloween spirit with local taverns and people dressed for the holiday.
