Woman shot twice

SANDUSKY — A coroner determined that a Sandusky woman found dead Wednesday had been shot twice and ruled her death a homicide. Trinidy Jones Facebook photo The Lucas County coroner's office performed an autopsy on 24-year-old Trinidy Jones Friday morning. Jones was found deceased in her Aspen Run Road home, with her young children still inside, on Wednesday afternoon. She was found by family after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Police believe she was killed earlier that day. The coroner ruled that her cause of death was the two gunshots, and listed her manner of death as "homicide," according to Sandusky police Chief Jared Oliver. Arrest made The person responsible for killing Jones has not yet been arrested or identified, but police made an arrest related to the case on Friday. Mariah Crawford Erie County Jail Mariah J. Crawford, 23, of Sandusky, was charged with third-degree felony obstructing justice in connection to Sandusky police's investigation of the fatal shooting. Oliver said police believe she "knowingly withheld information" when speaking to detectives. Police did not release any other information about the investigation on Friday. "Our detectives are still actively pursuing some information," Oliver said. Crawford was being held in the Erie County Jail without bond as of Friday.
