Jerry M. Eakin

SANDUSKY — Jerry M. Eakin, 78, of Sandusky, passed away Tuesday morning Dec. 7, 2021, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness. He was born June 4, 1943, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1961. Jerry was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Sandusky and was an electrician for over 30 years with IBEW Local 129, Lorain. He also was a member of VFW, AMVETS, American Legion and the Beekeepers Association, Clyde. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed gardening, hunting and shooting. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Cook; son, Jason Eakin; two sisters, Judith McDurfee and Janis (Doug) Wiedle; three grandchildren, Joseph Eakin, Derek Seitz and Melissa Thornton; goddaughter/niece, Cortney Rapp; nephew, Ed Kennedy; and several other nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Inez (Raitz) Eakin. A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
