Man jailed after allegedly attacking woman

PERKINS TWP. — A Sandusky man faces a felony-level disruption charge, in addition to other offenses, after he reportedly broke a woman's phone during an argument that got physical. Perkins police charged Brandon Boulevard resident Freddie D. Goff, 38, for disruption of a public service after an alleged domestic attack occurred at his home on Sunday morning. Officers were called to Goff's address for a domestic violence dispute. A woman told officers that Goff had punched her and smashed her cellphone, according to the report. The woman told officers that Goff returned home intoxicated earlier in the day and became violent. She said Goff "jumped on top of her" and "started to punch her in the back of the head with a closed fist," the report read. The woman said that Goff then grabbed her phone and threw it on the floor, shattering it "so she could not call 911," the report read. Goff then left the house, according to the report. When Goff returned to the home, he began "beating" on the door. According to the report, when the woman told Goff he wasn't allowed back inside the house, he smashed the glass screen on the door and threw a chair at the woman's car. Goff allegedly assaulted the woman a second time that morning. He "grabbed her by the neck, putting her against the wall in the garage," the report states. Goff allegedly spat in the woman's face and threatened to kill her. Goff had left the scene before officers arrived. The woman was checked by paramedics but refused to be taken to the hospital. On Monday, officers served Goff with warrants and immediately transported him to the Erie County Jail. As of late Monday, he remains locked up there on a no-bond order. In addition to the felony, he's also charged with two first-degree misdemeanors: assault and domestic violence.
